ABOUT

ERIKA

Upon moving to Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Erika launched Urban Grace Interiors, an interior design firm that would service the growing needs of the bustling communities taking shape along 30A. Little did she know all the hard work, opportunity, and success that would follow as she completed projects locally and across the country. From skyline views of New York apartments to beach-side cottages in her backyard, Erika’s sensibilities and hands-on approach for varying projects have won her the respect and admiration of her clients and have helped to propel her into a new territory - textiles.

After years of watercoloring with her daughters simply as a way to ‘play,’ Erika had compiled quite a collection of doodles and designs she wanted to do something with. And what better way for an interior designer to share her creations than in the form of textiles? Combining the 'medium' she uses every day with her hand-painted patterns led to the birth of her first textiles collection.

The launch of this line represents Erika’s warm invitation for anyone to enter into her dynamic world of design and be inspired by what can come from the ‘art of play.’

EMILY

After graduating from the University of Georgia in 2015, Emily packed her bags and headed south to join the Urban Grace team as an interior designer. She initially thought she’d stay in paradise a year or two, get some great design experience under her belt, hit the beach…then be on her merry way back to reality! Well, fast forward a few years and Emily met and has settled down with her husband Field and Boykin spaniel pup Rookie in Santa Rosa Beach and has transitioned from selecting fabrics to helping design and market them!

After a year and a half of managing projects and sharpening her sensibilities under Erika's wing, Emily had a lightbulb moment. She knew Erika had a life-long dream of launching a textiles line and wanted to help her make that dream a reality. With patterns already designed and preliminary colorways selected, the creation of her line was in the works. So, Emily pitched the idea of stepping in to help bring it to fruition and Erika was elated! Having grown a friendship with and a discernment for Erika's aesthetic and taste, it was a natural transition for Emily to help further develop and establish her new brand - Erika M. Powell Textiles. Since then, the two have worked tirelessly to create a collection that reflects the same joy that inspired it and hope that it encourages you to find your way to play, whatever that may be!

ABBEY

Abbey is the newest addition to our small but mighty team and we honestly don't know how we ever managed without her! Her official title is 'Logistics and Warehouse Manager' which basically means she is our go-to girl for all things customer service, order fulfillment, inventory management, organization...and the list goes on! Hailing from Birmingham, Abbey is an Auburn tiger (like Erika!) and graduated with a degree in Nutrition Science. Always having a heart for individuals struggling with substances, she began a career at Bradford Health Services leading their community outreach efforts and assisting families with loved ones battling the disease.

With her husband ready to turn his passion for aviation into a full-time career, she and Andrew began an adventure of a lifetime to make that dream a reality. The journey allowed them to call some pretty unique places home, such as Martha's Vineyard and Puerto Rico. After a few years of incredible travel experiences (and an abundance of relocations!), they were finally ready to settle down and call the South home once again. Between growing up vacationing in Santa Rosa Beach and their recent travels spent living by the water, they realized they couldn't part with the coast...making 30A the perfect spot to land! You can find them and their sweet pup Margot out on the water or on the beach most weekends. They are currently building a home in the area and we are so glad they are here to stay!

JENNA

Jenna is a Nursing graduate from the University of Alabama with a specialization in cardiac intensive care and college health. She joined the Urban Grace Interiors team as their Resource Librarian in September of 2021 and quickly grew into a Design Assistant role, helping the designers around the studio, on site projects, as well as with ordering and tracking. She often helped us on the EMP Textiles side and we loved her positive energy and work ethic, so when the opportunity arose for her to join us as the Logistics and Warehouse Assistant in October of 2022, we were elated she said yes!

When Jenna is not working, you can find her relaxing on Grayton Beach or traveling with her husband, two little boys, and chocolate lab. They have lived in some cool spots over the years, but most recently they spent 6 months exploring the west coast in their airstream before deciding to settle down in beautiful Santa Rosa Beach. They loved the laid-back lifestyle of 30A, and decided to make this vacation spot their full-time home. Jenna has always enjoyed painting, drawing, and making pottery, so she has loved letting her creative side fly here at Erika M. Powell Textiles!
