We welcomed such a fun group of ladies to our studio for a night of sushi rolling with Chef Jeff Margaretten and Shibori dyeing with artist Liza Snyder! With our rain plan in full affect, we Shibori-ed up in the the EMP Textiles art loft instead of on the back porch which ended up being a blast! Liza led the group (with indigo dyed hands and all!) through the unique knotting and folding steps required to achieve each guests' preferred Shibori pattern. Various stages of soaking, stirring and rinsing proceeded and then...voile! Beautiful Shibori-ed Turkish Towels were ready to take home! Downstairs in the kitchen, Jeff led the other half of our guests as they learned to roll their own sushi. While sipping on miso soup and snacking on edamame beans, our guests watched Jeff demonstrate the art of rolling and then it was go-time! With various ingredients spread across the counter, each guest hand-picked the fish and veggies and toppings to add to their customized roll. Once complete, they were all almost too pretty to eat...almost!
